Magnetic Pirate Literacy Activity

Pirate words

Pirate Letter Tiles

This easy-for-you-to-prep activity is easy enough for even Captain Jack Sparrow to assemble.  This word activity was created with papers from SE mini and large note pads. You will also need a cookie sheet (be sure that it is magnetic), some magnetic tape, pirate word cards (found in the frame below), a glue stick, and some clear contact paper. I suggest that you laminate one set of the word cards before you cut them out.

Glue papers from SE note pads onto a cookie sheet. For nonreaders cut out one set of words and glue them onto the pictures. You can skip that step if you are working with readers.

Cover your work with a sheet of clear contact paper. Laminate your second set of words and trim them. Glue magnetic tape to the back of each word. Nonreader will match the loose words to the words on the cookie sheet. Reader will identify word and match it to the picture on the cookie sheet.

Enjoy!
